How to Connect Google Docs to Gemini Gems
- Open Google Gemini in your web browser (this works with both free and paid plans).
- Navigate to the 'Gems' section located in the left sidebar.
- Click the '+ New Gem' button to create a new bot.
- In the 'Instructions' field, type in the directions for the bot, for example: 'Answer questions based on the knowledge from the attached document.'
- Open a new tab and create a Google Docs file in your Google Drive.
- Enter your information, data, or question-and-answer (Q&A) pairs into that Google Docs file.
- Give the file a clear name (e.g., 'Q&A Knowledge Base') so it is easy to locate.
- Return to the Gemini 'Gem builder' window.
- Click the '+ Add from Drive' button located under the instructions section.
