How to Connect Google Docs to Gemini Gems

1. Open Google Gemini in your web browser (this works with both free and paid plans).
2. Navigate to the 'Gems' section located in the left sidebar.
3. Click the '+ New Gem' button to create a new bot.
4. In the 'Instructions' field, type in the directions for the bot, for example: 'Answer questions based on the knowledge from the attached document.'
5. Open a new tab and create a Google Docs file in your Google Drive.
6. Enter your information, data, or question-and-answer (Q&A) pairs into that Google Docs file.
7. Give the file a clear name (e.g., 'Q&A Knowledge Base') so it is easy to locate.
8. Return to the Gemini 'Gem builder' window.
9. Click the '+ Add from Drive' button located under the instructions section.
10. Search for and select the Google Docs file you prepared earlier.
11. Click the 'Create' or 'Save' button in the bottom-right corner to activate the Gem.
12. Start a chat session with your new Gem to test the AI's knowledge based on the connected document.
