How to Connect the MCP Server and Configure the Environment

1. Open the Claude dashboard and navigate to the 'Environment' section in the left menu.
2. Click the button to 'Create New Environment'.
3. Launch a test session within the newly created environment.
4. If the AI agent doesn't automatically detect the MCP requirement, type this command in the chat: 'The agent does need to connect to the customer.io MCP server.'
5. When the AI asks for technical settings (e.g., US or EU region), select the server location that matches your account (e.g., Select 'EU' if you are based in Europe).
6. Wait for the AI to confirm that the connection to the external tool (email marketing tool) was successful.

Setting Up the Credentials Vault for the AI Agent

1. Look at the left sidebar and find the 'Vault' category.
2. Click the 'Create a new vault' button.
3. Select the external tool account you want to connect (e.g., Customer.io account).
4. Click the 'Allow Access' button to give the AI agent permission to interact with the tool's API.
5. Verify that the vault has successfully stored the credentials to enable the agent to perform automation tasks.
