How to Create Podcasts and Study Materials in NotebookLM

  1. Go to the NotebookLM website and log in using your Google account.
  2. Click on 'New Notebook' to start a new research project.
  3. Click the '+' button or 'Add source' to upload the documents (PDF, Google Docs, or website links) you want to process.
  4. Wait for the AI to finish analyzing your sources. The uploaded sources will appear in the left side panel.
  5. Click the 'Notebook guide' button located at the bottom right of the screen.
  6. To generate a podcast, find the 'Audio Overview' section and click the 'Generate' button. The AI will create a discussion between two hosts based on your sources.
  7. To generate other study materials, choose your preferred format such as 'Study Guide', 'Table of Contents', 'FAQ', or 'Briefing Document' from the available menu.
  8. Use the chat box at the bottom to ask specific questions about your documents or request the AI to build a 'Mind Map'.
