How to Set Up Connectors in ChatGPT Settings
- Click on your profile icon in the bottom corner of the screen.
- Select 'Settings' from the menu that appears.
- Click on the 'Connectors' tab in the left sidebar.
- Find the cloud storage app you want to connect (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box).
- Click the 'Connect' button next to that application.
- Click 'Continue' on the confirmation window to allow ChatGPT to access your files.
- Complete the authentication process in the storage app's pop-up window.
Running Deep Research with Internal Files
- On the ChatGPT home page, select 'Deep Research' from the model/tools selection menu at the top.
- Click the 'Sources' dropdown menu located below the prompt input field.
- Click 'More' to see the full list of available connectors.
- Toggle 'ON' for the sources you want to use (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive).
- Enter your search prompt or task in the chat box.
- Press Enter to start the Deep Research process.
- Monitor the 'Sources' panel on the right side of the screen to see the AI reading your internal files simultaneously with its internet search.
Local App Integration (Desktop App)
- Open the ChatGPT desktop application (Mac or Windows).
- Click the 'Connect to other apps' icon (usually located near the input field).
