The Advantage of Combining Internal Data

Deep Research becomes even more powerful when combined with your internal files. It doesn't just search the internet; it can also reference old documents, business notes, or scripts stored in your cloud storage to generate more relevant reports.

Resource Management Tip

If you have multiple cloud accounts, you can manage or reconnect any of them at any time via the 'Connectors' tab in Settings to ensure your data stays up to date.

Deep Research Search Limits

While Deep Research can scan hundreds of websites, ensure your files in Dropbox/Drive have descriptive filenames so the AI can more easily identify the correct files to use as references.
Step by Step

How to Set Up Connectors in ChatGPT Settings

  1. Click on your profile icon in the bottom corner of the screen.
  2. Select 'Settings' from the menu that appears.
  3. Click on the 'Connectors' tab in the left sidebar.
  4. Find the cloud storage app you want to connect (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box).
  5. Click the 'Connect' button next to that application.
  6. Click 'Continue' on the confirmation window to allow ChatGPT to access your files.
  7. Complete the authentication process in the storage app's pop-up window.
