Edit Video Like a Word Document
The key advantage of Generative AI in Descript is how it syncs text with the video timeline. If you know how to 'delete' words in Microsoft Word, you can already edit videos without needing to learn complex timeline editing.
Automating Filler Words
Don't waste time hunting for every 'uh' and 'um' manually. Use the 'Remove Filler Words' AI feature to process the entire video in just seconds.
Professional Audio Quality
The 'Studio Sound' feature uses AI for voice reconstruction, making your audio sound like it was recorded in a professional studio even if you're using a standard microphone.
Step by Step
How to Edit Video Using AI Transcripts
- Upload your video or audio recording into a new project in Descript.
- Wait for the AI to automatically complete the text transcription for the entire audio.
- Review the transcript text in the left panel to find segments you want to cut (such as mistakes or off-topic discussions).
- Highlight or select the words/sentences you want to remove using your cursor.
- Press the 'Delete' or 'Backspace' key on your keyboard; the corresponding video segment will be automatically cut based on that text.
- Click on the 'Underlord' menu or 'Actions' icon (depending on your software version) to access the AI features.
- Select the 'Remove Filler Words' feature to automatically identify words like 'um', 'uh', and 'ah'.
- Click 'Delete All' or 'Apply to All' to remove all filler words from the entire video with a single click.
- Click the 'Studio Sound' button in the Audio Effects panel to use AI to clean up background noise and enhance voice quality.
- Click the 'Publish' or 'Export' button in the top right corner to save your final video.
