How to Switch from Google Assistant to Gemini on Pixel
- Open the 'Google Gemini' app on your Pixel phone. If you don't have it yet, download it from the Google Play Store.
- Click on your profile photo or account 'initial' in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select 'Settings' from the menu options.
- Find and click on 'Digital assistants from Google'.
- Select 'Gemini' as your primary digital assistant to officially replace Google Assistant.
- Click 'Switch' or 'I Agree' on the confirmation message to let Gemini take over voice command functions.
- To enable access to personal data, go back to 'Settings' in the Gemini app and select 'Extensions'.
- Ensure the 'Google Workspace' toggle is turned ON so Gemini can access your Gmail, Google Drive, and Docs.
- Test the function by saying 'Hey Google' or long-pressing the Power button, then give a voice command to check your emails.
