Limitations of Using Distilled Models
This Detailer workflow is not compatible with 'distilled' versions of the LTX-Video model. You must use the 'full' or 'non-distilled' version for the detail enhancement to work correctly.
Detail Quality Control
If the resulting video looks too sharp or 'overprocessed', lower the Strength value on the LoRA node from 1.0 towards 0.5 for a more natural look.
Video Upscaling Alternatives
This technique is an additional option for adding detail within the LTX ecosystem. If the quality is still not satisfactory, it is recommended to use 'Dedicated Upscalers' specifically designed for image/video restoration.
Step by Step
Steps to Upscale Video Using LTX-2 Detailer
- Locate the 'Load Video' node or the first input node on the left side of the workflow.
- Click the 'Upload' button and select a blurry or low-resolution video file (e.g., 426x240).
- Download the 'Full non-distilled' version of the LTX-Video model (FP4 files are recommended for a smaller file size).
- Save the model file into the 'ComfyUI/models/checkpoints' folder.
- Press the 'R' key on your keyboard to 'Refresh' the model list in ComfyUI.
- On the 'Checkpoint Loader' node, select the LTX-Video FP4 model you just downloaded.
- Download the 'Detailer LoRA' and place the file in the 'ComfyUI/models/loras' folder.
- Select 'Detailer LoRA' from the dropdown menu in the LoRA Loader node.
- Adjust the LoRA 'Strength' (default is 1.00 or 100%). Lower the value if you want more subtle details.
- In the 'Gemma 3 Model' section, select 'Model 1 of 2' from the available options.
- Ensure the 'LTXV Path' is pointed to the same FP4 model used in step 6.
- Set the 'Upscale' dimensions by defining the 'Max Side' size of the video as needed.
- Click the 'Queue Prompt' or 'Run' button to start the video generation process.
