Advantages of Markdown (.md) Files
Use Markdown (.md) files instead of PDFs to provide context to the AI. LLMs (Large Language Models) process this format more easily and deliver more consistent results.
Project-Specific 'Memories' Management
Each project has its own 'Custom memories'. This means the AI learns things specific only to that folder without mixing information from other projects or your main account.
Automatic Folder Structure
When you build a new project, Claude Cowork creates a distinct folder structure on your device. This makes it easier to separate personal goals, professional work, and side hustles.
Step by Step
How to Setup a New Project in Claude Cowork
- Open the Claude Cowork interface and look for the 'Projects' menu on the sidebar.
- Click the '+' (plus) icon located next to the word 'Projects'.
- Choose whether to 'Start from scratch' or import an existing project.
- Enter your project name (e.g., 'AI Education') in the name field.
- Click the button to add files and select document files containing relevant context.
- Click the 'Create' button to build a new folder structure on your device specifically for that project.
How to Import and Manage Project Context
- Click the '+' icon in the 'Projects' section again.
- Select the 'Import a project' option to pull data from an existing Claude project (such as 'Eigor's clone').
- Look at the 'Instructions' section at the top of the interface to enter main instructions (optional).
- Check the 'Files' section to ensure your Markdown (.md) files have been successfully uploaded.
- Use the 'Scheduled tasks' tab to set specific tasks according to project categories (Personal, Business, or Side Hustle).
- Click the 'Chat' tab at the top to start interacting with the AI using all dynamically linked memory references and files.
